Steve and I first met Alex at Erin & Paul’s wedding last summer in Long Island. We weren’t really formally introduced, but we did grab a few pictures during the reception. Alex and Erin’s sister, Tara, are very close friends. They have two more friends and all together, they are the “Core Four”. We had some trouble in the beginning getting e-mail to go through. For some reason, my AOL (yes, I’m probably the last person on Earth still using AOL) doesn’t like to work. We were finally able to connect on the phone and discuss details. The year went by fairly quick and before we knew it, the big day was here…

The hotel Alex and her girls were getting ready in was directly across the street from their venue. Steve and I decided to grab the dress and shoes and head over for some detail photos. We arrived, excited to get what we needed, turned the corner and came face to face with a yoga class in full swing! So, we grabbed what we needed and headed back to the room.

What we didn’t know is that there are chickens running EVERYWHERE near the museum and in the museum garden. I saw some eggs in one of the planters. The park ranger laughed as I pointed them out and said the chickens are usually much better at hiding them…

While I was hanging out with Alex, Steve headed to Andres’ mother’s house to get some getting ready photos there…

It's time to get the show going...

Alex & Andres chose to do a first look. This is a very personal decision that needs to be made by each individual couple. First looks don't work for everyone. It was perfect for Alex & Andres. They were able to have a special moment prior to their ceremony and a majority of the bridal portraits were done immediately after allowing more time for the reception.
